HOW COME THE HICK'RY PIT?
Hickᵒry Pit barbecuing is a direct descendent
of the centuries old system originated by the
American Indians. Our basting solution, Pyra-
cure, coupled with the open fire of blended
woods, gives the meat a distinctive flavor; and
best of all, retains the juices and prevents the
meat from shrinking. The first Hick’ry Pit
opened in 1928. A skeptical patronage, who
refused to eat without the use of silverware,
at last became convinced that fingers were the
only sensible style of service.
