The Kaibab Suspension Bridge spans the
Colorado River at the foot of Kaibab Trail, eleven
miles from El Tovar Hotel. It is 420 feet long
and swings 60 feet above the river. It is a mon-
ument to the resourcefulness of modern engine-
ering, because of the difficulties overcome in
transporting materials down the steep Canyon
trails.
