ALONG BIG RIVER, 50 MILES SOUTH OF ST. LOUIS ON THE MISSOURI PACIFIC - IRON MOUNTAIN
Back:
POST CARD
PUBLISHED BY MISSOURI PACIFIC RAILROAD
C, L. STONE, PASSENGER TRAFFIC MANAGER, ST. LOUIS
At the point pictured on the reverse side of
this card the Missouri Pacific-Iron Mountain
begins its climb over the Eastern section of the
Ozarks en route to “The Great Southwestern
Empire.” These Ozark Mountains are said by
geologists to be among the oldest mountains in
America and the principal elevation between the
Alleghenies and the Rockies and Canada and
the Gulf. While they are not as high or as
inspiring as the Rockies they are far more beau-
tiful because of their vegetation and their val-
leys are traversed by some of the most pic-
turesque rivers in America.
