The chapel and base gymnasium. This base covers some 1,762
acres and represents an investment of $53,000,000 and
employs 10,000 civilians and 2600 military personnel. It is
the home of the largest jet overhaul facility on the West
Coast. Named after a San Bernardino boy who was killed on
his sixteenth combat mission near Amiens in 1944.
