NEWPORT-BALBOA BAY
One of the great number of attractions to be found
in the Newport-Balboa area is the sail boat. Here
one may rent sail boats or motor boats. Their white
sails dot the blue bay as the ferry works its way
around them. The ferry started operations on July
8, 1919 with a single boat powered with an outboard
motor and capable of holding six passengers. The
present ferry holds 150 passengers and three cars.
Newport-Balboa Bay has the largest number of plea-
sure boats on the Pacific Coast. ..M.P.
