PLACE
CALIFORNIA'S TEMECULA
This friendly town was once an ancient Indian
village, a Mission Rancho, a stop-over on the
Southern Immigrant Trail and later a Butterfield
Stage Station. One of California's earliest Post
Offices was established in this ranching com-
munity in 1859. Rail service started in 1882,
stopped in 1935.
