THE MANSION - Briefly in 1941 the quarters
of Adolf Hitler's German Consulate in San
Francisco, this 1896 red sandstone residence
was one of the first steel frame town houses
built in California. It is among the state's few
examples of Victorian elegance remaining un-
changed through the years.
