MRS. THEODORE ROOSEVELT AND HER
DAUGHTER ETHEL. Mrs. Roosevelt was Miss Edith
Kermit Carow, and was married to the present President in
London, Engiand in 1886, being his second wife. She is 5
feet 8 inches in height and is fond of outdoor life. She is
the mother of four boys and one girl, the latter being Miss
Ethel who is shown in this portrait and who is a flaxen-haired,
blue-eyed girl of a distinct German type of beauty.
