governmental and individual appropria-
tions of Japan foot up to approximately
$1,000,000. One of the structures houses
the priceless art collection of the Em-
peror Mutsuhito, a collection of treas-
ures never before exhibited to strangers.
The entire Japanese exhibit is said to be
the finest ever displayed at a World Ex-
position.
