COMMEMORATING an event which will attract more than
25,000 Boy Scouts from all parts of the country, this
the three age leve' programs of the Boy Scout Movement.
In the background and to the right of the three scouts
is the Statue of Liberty, symbolizing the Boy Scout
Movements crusade: "To Strengthen the Arm of Liberty.
Further to the right is the 'fleur de lis' membership
badge of the organization.
THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA was incorporated in 1910
and chartered by Congress in 1916 to develope, the
character of boys and train them for the duties of
adult life by influence brought to bear in their work
and play. Boys from the ages of 9 to 1l are Cub Scouts.
He becomes a scout at the age of 12. When he 18 15,he
may become a senior scout and may join a sea scout
ship or the explorer scouts.
