Additional Details:
The bill was favorably reported to the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry. An attempt will be made in the Senate, as was attempted in the House, to substitute the oleomargarine makers' measure, for our bill, H.R. 9206. The measure known as the "Wadsworth Substitute" was framed by oleomargarine interests. Under the pretext of further restrictions in the sale of oleomargarine it paves the way for breaking down instead of upholding the laws of the states by letting colored oleomargarine in where state laws now forbid. Chas. Y. Knight, Secretary National Dairy Union.
