Established in 1821 and named for the seventh
president of the United States, Jackson is the
hub of a circle with a 500 mile radius within
which live a large percentage of the population
of the nation. This city has a Commission form
of government Its officials consist of a Mayor
and two Commissioners. Jackson is also the
county seat of Jackson County.
