A telegram from our San Francisco Office reports the
arrival of the Resolute on time this morning afterca
pleasant voyage from Hawaii.
There was a Farewell Dinner Monday evening in honor
of the passengers who are disembarking at San Francisco
and Los Angeles, during which laughter and tears struggled
emotionally, and Tuesday night there were many Good-bye
Parties in the Grill Room.
The usual automobile drive today included San Francisco
proper, the Presidio, Nob's Hill, Golden Gate Park, Palo
Alto and the famous Thirty Mile Drive.
A goodly number of the passengers took advantage of
the opportunity to make a special overland automobile trip
to Los Angeles, the Resolute's next port of call, over the
Royal Highway, El Camino Real, associated forever with
the name of heroic Father Junipero Serra and the Miissions.
Well, your friends are nearly home!

SAN FRANCISCO is a pictorial city whose im-
portance and cosmopolitan character are dispropor-
tionate to her showing in the census. And her his-
toric background gives an added attraction, with its
romantic and colorful periods, of gay Spanish colonials
and of adventurous Forty-Niners. We shall not
mention the word Earthqu-er-Fire!
