Sacred Heart College was established in 1872 by the
late Archbishop Alemany as a Catholic high school
for the boys and young men of San Francisco. The
present building was erected by the late Archbishop
Riordan and is a modern structure worthy of the
Archdiocese of San Francisco. Every room in the
building is equipped with the latest type of lighting
and heating facilities. The draughting rooms and the
physical and chemical laboratories, as well as the
libraries, have been designed and completed by experts.
The equipment includes an auditorium and spacious
play hall.
in the furnishing of the building nothing has been
overlooked that might in any way contribute to the
convenience and well-being of the students. One
notable facility is afforded in a spacious up-to-date
cafeteria on the ground floor where the noonday lunch-
eon is served at current rates.
There are four departments : gram mar, commercial,
high school and college, conducted by a skilled and
adequate teaching staff.
