ART PUBLISHERS TO THEIR MAJESTIES THE KING & QUEEN.
The latest achievement in the annals of expbration, the
discovery of the North Pole, adds another name theylong
list of indomitable explorers who have braved the hardships
of the Arctic Regions in the cause of Science.
Dr. F. A. Cook (a name already famous in the history
of discovery) is an American, and was born in Callicoon
Depôt, Sullivan County, New York, in 1865. He claims to
have reached the North Pole on April 21st, 1908, and as the
first to arrive at this goal his name must for ever stand high
on the roll of Polar Exploration.
