An inertial confinement fusion target is placed at the
center of this evacuated 16-ft-diam aluminum target
chamber. It is illuminated with light simultaneously
focused from all of Nova's ten laser beams. The opti-
cal components reside in the cylindrical blue housings
attached to the spherical chamber.
