| Mission Conception, built in 1731 is known as the First Mission. This Mission like the other Missions was built for worship, for scholastic purposes, and for defence. It is the best preserved of all the Missions. Its twin towers and moorish dome standing out in bold relief. The Mission fronts west and is built in the form of a cross with the towers forming two wing at the foot of the cross. |
