GOLFING. The popular game of golf is encouraged by
the instructors as a means to making the cadets ideal all-around
athletes. The rolling country, overlooking the Hudson River,
affords ideal golf links, and during the outdoor life at West
Point in the summer, the young men have a considerable
interval daily to devote to the healthful Scotch pastime.
