| Indiana Territory Sesquicentennial 3 Cent Stamp 1800-1950. The "Hero of Tippecanoe" was born in Virginia, 1773. He was a student at Hampden-Sidney College, and later a soldier. He was the first governor of Indiana Territory, a member of the House of Representatives, a senator, and for one month President of the United States. He died at Washington, D.C., April 4, 1841 of typhoid. |
