The NAVAL ORDNANCE TEST STATION, commonly
known as NOTS, at China Lake, Calif., was built
during World War II to meet the nation's urgent
need for rockets. It has since become the Navy's
largest weapon research, development, and test
center. Top scene shows the NOTS Main Gate.
Below is the front of Michelson Laboratory, which
with over 10 acres of floor space is the center
of NOTS research activities.
