Located at Interstate 280 and El Monte
Road, Foothill College occupies 122 acres
of two original Spanish land grants. The
main campus buildings, grouped on a
traffic - free plateau encircled by a loop
road, are of "Pacific architecture, blend-
ing old brick, red wood, massive concrete
piers, and hipped shake roofs. A foot-
bridge ties the main academic circle to a
second mesa accommodating the physical
education facilities. More than 100 native
oaks are preserved and supplemented with
indigenous plantings.
