This is a view of Canal Street, looking Northwest, Canal Street is the Broadway of New Orleans for it is on this thoroughfare that the principal department stores, clothing establishments and other retail stores are located. Every street car line in the city is either operated on or across Canal St., thus making it an easy matter for strangers to find their hotels, shopping district, etc. The twelve story building to the right is the Maison Blanche, one of the finest Department Stores in the South. |
