SANTA ROSA, CALIFORNIA
"The City Designed for Living"
• One hour from San Francisco on U.S. No. 101.
Luther Burbank, the great horticulturist, picked
"the garden spot of the U.S." for home and work.
• The gateway to one of the "Seven Wonders
of the World" — the Redwood Highway.
• The center of California's finest wine district.
• Home of Bob ''Believe It Or Not" Ripley, and
the Church made from one tree.
Northern California's Vacationland-surf, deep
sea and river fishing; swimming and canoeing;
sailing; geysers and famous mineral spas.
• Sonoma County is sixth in production in the
U.S., shipping a major crop every month of the
year: Grapes, prunes, apples, vegetables, vege-
table and flower seed, oranges and lemons, hops
and wines; lumber, cattle, sheep, wool, chickens,
eggs from Petaluma, "the egg basket of the
world", dairy products and commercial fishing.
• The people of Sonoma County are friendly
and community spirited, demonstrated by the
fact that the Topaz Room served the "'Thousand
Dollar Plate Dinner' to a capacity crowd, raising
$165,000 toward a new $1,700,000 hospital.

THE TOPAZ ROOM
The treasure chests in the Topaz Room contain
antique European glassware and rare plates
known world-wide by art collectors. Beautiful
hand-tufted brocade, and soundproofed ceilings
and floors add to the restful atmosphere.
The CRYSTAL ROOM was so named from the
beautiful European crystal chandeliers and wall
brackets. The INNER CIRCLE, for your private
parties, is adorned with crystal and wall chests
containing rare Sevres Urns.
Our dining rooms are internationally famous for
their continental food — Hors d'Oeuvres served
from the iced wagon, breast of Chicken Kiev,
Crabmeat Crepes Louise served in flames, Bone-
less Squab stuffed with wild rice and served
on flaming sword, Planked Rack of Lamb;
pastries made on our premises are served from
the wagon and also Crepe Suzettes as made only
in the TOPAZ ROOM. These and many other
dishes served in a unique style have, at reason-
able prices, made the TOPAZ ROOM famous.
We are proud to state that fifty percent of those
served in the TOPAZ ROOM are prominent
citizens of the San Francisco Bay Area who
make it their custom to drive to Santa Rosa for
a delightful afternoon or evening.
