This pole, bearing the hereditary crests and
totemic symbols of an important Haida family
stood, until 1913, at the town of Ian, Masset
Inlet, Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia.
It is one of the finest examples of the Northwest
Coast Indian wood carving.
