POUNDS HOLLOW RECREATION AREA IN THE
SHAWNEE HILLS NATIONAL FOREST
The lake is extremely popular for swimming,
boating and fishing.' Its cool, shaded banks
are widely used for picnics and camping. It is
about 3 miles west of Rt. 1 and 12 miles south
of Rt. 13 in scenic southern Illinois.
