man-made "tree" with its huge re-
volving star and colored lights, and
thrill at the strains of carols sung
by the 60-voiced youthful choir
standing in its "boughs" recalling
to all hearts "the Christ of Christ-
mas." Since its beginning in Chico
in 1961, this outdoor idea has
caught on in other cities, even in
