The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology comprises three divisions: The College prepares young men and women for careers in several fields of Science and engineering. The Bureau of Mines and Mineral Resources employ engineers and geologists who conduct original studies in all mineral and water resources of New Mexico. Research and Development Division conducts basic research related to the locations of ground water and the understanding of Cloud-Precipitation phenomena "Rainmaking". In front of building is Symbolic sandstone statue "The Desert maid" by E. S. Ludlam. Research and Development Laboratory was built in 1949. |
