CORUNNA
This is the Northernmost Province of Spain.
a part of the old Province of Galicia, bounded
North and West by the Sea. The country is
very mountainous, craggy and picturesque; and
essentially agricultural. The inhabitants are de-
scendants of the ancient Goths. They are not
very tall, but stout and robust. Corunna, the
capital, was founded by the Phoenicians several
centuries B. C. Our picture represents the
Provincial dress of the rural population, in a
multitude of whose homes you will find our
Grand Old " Singer.'

TUNIS.
ONE OF THE BARBARY STATES OF NORTH AFRICA. BOUNDED NORTH
AND NORTH-WEST BY THE MEDITERRANEAN, SOUTH-EAST BY TRIPOLI,
SOUTH AND SOUTH-WEST BY THE SAHARA, WEST BY ALGERIA. IT WAS LONG
A DEPENDENCY OF TURKEY, BUT HAS BEEN UNDER FRENCH PROTECTION
SINCE 1882. THE NATIVE INHABITANTS ARE MOORS, ARABS AND NEGROES.
VERY LITTLE IS KNOWN OF THE INTERIOR OF THE COUNTRY. BOTH MANU-
FACTURES AND AGRICULTURE ARE IN A VERY UNDEVELOPED STATE. TUNIS,
THE CAPITAL CITY, BUILT AT THE HEAD OF A LAGOON CONNECTED WITH
THE BAY OF TUNIS, 18 A CITY OF GREAT ANTIQUITY, AND 18 BUT THREE MILES
FROM THE SITE AND RUINS OF THE ANCIENT CITY OF CARTHAGE. FOR
MANY YEARS THE TUNISIAN PIRATES WERE THE SCOURGE AND TERROR OF
THE MARINE OF THE WORLD. OUR PICTURE REPRESENTS A NATIVE TUNISIAN
IN THE USUAL COSTUME, SEATED AT OUR “SINGER" MACHINE, WHICH
IS EXTENSIVELY USED IN TUNI8.

SERVIA
Acountry of Europe, bounded N. W. by the river
Save, separating it from Austria, N. and N. E. by
the Danube, separating it from Mungary and Rou-
mania. The capital city is Belgarde. The country
is mountainous, being traversed by portions of
three great mountain chains, the Carpathians,
Balkans and Dinaric Alps. The climate is cold in
the mountains, but mild and pleasant in the valleys,
The inhabitants are Serbs, a branch of the Slavic
race, who speak the softest, most musical of all the
Slavic dialects. They are noted for their firmness,
courage and generosity. Our photo represents a
group of Servians in their usual somewhat fantas-
tic dress, demonstrating the usefulness of our
Singer Machine, which has found its way over the
mountains into thousands of Servian homes.

BOSNIA.
A territory of Europe, enclosed by Dalmacia,
Slavonia, Servia, Albania and Montenegro. It was
formerly a Turkish Vilayet, but is now under
Austro-Mungary. The country is very mountainous
and better adapted to grazing and stock raising
than to the cultivation of grains. Fruits are an
abundant product, especially prunes. The Bos-
nians are of Slavic stock, finely formed and intelli-
gent. This young man in his picturesque national
dress is a fair type of the average Bosnian. The
Singer Machine has found its way into the moun-
tain and valley homes of Bosnia and large num-
bers are sold annually.
