SAN MIGUEL MISSION
Santa Fe, New Mexico
San Miguel is said to be the oldest church in America.
Some historians believe it may have been built as early
as 1550. Others place it at 1605. Although damaged by
fire during the Indian uprising of 1680, it was repaired
after the re-conquest by De Vargas. Today the interior
is much the same as it has been for more than three
centuries.
