TYPICAL OLD HOME – AIKEN, S. C.
One of Aiken's oldest homes is typical of many huge,
rambling structures that were built as winter resi-
dences. Their formal gardens are masses of blooms
in the spring. Pictured residence, partially burned
by Sherman's army, is now the property of Miss
Claudia Phelps.
