122 N. Main St., Lindsborg, Kansas 67456
The parent business, a wooden shop built in 1874 by Jacob
Christiansen, a Dane, was later purchased and rebuilt of
brick in the 1890's by Oskar Holmberg and Janne Johnson,
with a new facade designed and painted by Ephraim Malm.
A lane which connected the Smoky Hill Trail and the Santa
Fe Trail once wound around the back side of the building.
Various partners. including Alfred Lindblade, smithyed here
until 1954. After two decades of vacancy and decay it was
restored briefly by Helen Johansen, as a gift shop, before
becoming, in 1973, Yocop Krukmakeri och Ďala Häst Fabrik;
Yocop Pottery & Dala Horse Factory, where Kansas clay pots
and Swedish wooden Dala Horses are designed and made
by Ragnar Lind Milstrom.
