Harpur College was dedicated in 1950 as a four-year
liberal arts college, a unit of the State University of
New York. The name, "Harpur", was chosen to
honor Robert Harpur, first secretary of the Board of
Regents. Presently situated on 376 acres in a broad
valley in the Town of Vestal.
