Frequently twenty to forty will take part in the ceremonies, dancing throughout the day. The black terrace on the kilt represents clouds, the lines, falling rain; the red squares in the sash, blossoms; the crooks, bean sprouts. The short white lines, the tracks of Pookong; and the white zig-zag lines in the lower border, the teeth of the Mountain Lion. The Tihu or doll in the left-hand represents a Kachina or Hopi Spirit.
