HERE is shown a mere section of a devotional procession of united
Slovak congregations who have made their annual pilgrimage
in honor of the feast of Our Lady's Nativity (Sept. 8.) Such processions
are frequently comprised of continuous throngs of worshippers extend-
ing from the very base of the mount to the summit, crowding into the
Church and overflowing and occupying every inch of space surround-
ing the edifice. To behold this vast multitude of penitents, and to
listen to the intermittent outbursts of solemn music from the thou-
sands of throats as the procession moves onward and upward, is to
participate in a holy experience whose edifying effects should last
forever
