This modern town had its beginning back in 1878 as a Mojavr
River Camp. In 1885 it was called Mormon Crossing and in 1886,
when mining became the principle activity, the name was
changed to Victor and later to Victorville. Today the area is
known for its farms and developments such as Applevalley and
