Born 11th August, 1862. Entered Army 1883.
Captain 1890. Served in Soudan 1898, South
Africa 1899-1900, where he was wounded. Major
1898, Lieut.-Colonel 1900, Colonel 1909, Director
of Military Training 1912. In the European
War 1914, Sir John French spoke highly in
despatches of the admirable work done by the
Royal Flying Corps under Sir David Henderson.
Their skill, energy and perseverance have been
beyond all praise.
