The Palais du Trocadero is on the right bank of the
Seine, opposite the Champ de Mars and the Eiffel Tower.
It was built for the Exhibition of 1878, and is now used as
a museum, and contains beautiful sculpture, ancient monu-
ments, antiquities, and objects of interest from all parts of
the world. In the foreground of the picture is the Pont
d'Jena, built in 1813 to commemorate the victory of that
name. The two colossal figures at the entrance represent
Horse Tamers.
