GOVERNOR'S MANSION
Jefferson City, Missouri
The present executive mansion, designed by George
1. Barnett, was built in 1871. It is a three-story
mansard roofed structure of French-Italian style,
with ornate iron grill work. Its massive columns
of Missouri red granite were donated by Governor
B. Gratz Brown (1871-1873), who quarried them from
his mines in Iron County.
