The only degree-granting college in the western
half of Kansas. Fort Hays State occupies 4160 acres
of the old Fort Hays Military Reservation and con-
tinues Indian-fighter tradition with such names as
Cody commons, Forsyth library, Sheridan coliseum,
Custer hall, and Seventh Cavalry, men's leadership
organization.
