Additional Details:
Dodge City's early burial grounds, where thirty-five knights of the saddle and exponents of the "Colt's" as an arbiter of disputes found everlasting rest. Thirty-four men and one woman, the famous "Dora Hand". Used as a cemetery from 1872 to 1879. From 1879 to 1925 for school purposes, and then purchased by the city to be used as a site for a "Municipal" building. The "cow-boy statue", was modeled by Dr. O.H. Simpson, pioneer dentist of Dodge City.
