THE LIBERTY MEMORIAL
is Kansas City's tribute "In honor of those who
served in the World War in defense of Liberty and
our Country". Erected from the proceeds of public
subscriptions, it occupies a commanding site on
Memorial Hill, south of the Union Station, in a
park 173 acres in extent. It was designed by H.
Van Buren Magonigle, who was selected by a jury
of eminent architects, and has been acclaimed one
of the outstanding memorials of the world.
