Kansas City is the gateway to the Southwest.
It is the second largest railroad and packing
center in the world. Though not sixth in popu-
lation, its bank clearings put it in sixth place
commercially in the United States. It has a
magnificent system of public parks, play
grounds and boulevards.
Grand Avenue is a thoroughfare 100 feet
wide, and at one time was part of the Old Santa
Fe Trail.
