Essayist and Physician.
Graduate of Harvard 1829.
Was somewhat of a humorist and an ex-
cellent judge of human nature. No other
American poet was more heartily received
abroad than he. It was he who created the
expression, “The Hub of the Universe,” as
applied to Boston.
