Additional Details:
The Grand Lobby of the Union Station, Kansas City, has a floor space of more than 22,800 square feet. The arches are 60 feet in height and 34 feet in width, while the room is 94 feet by 240 feet long. It is the main entrance hall, or vestibule, for the green station, and leads to the several waiting rooms, baggage rooms, checking counters, restaurant, bathrooms, drug store, shops, booths and "midways". From these "midways" - long corridors on either side of the main waiting room, staircases and elevators lead passengers to and from trains in the train sheds below. The ticket offices are a central feature of the Grand Lobby.
