It was completed in 1925 and built as "a fitting and suitable memorial for the soldiers and sailors of the State of Tennessee who served the United States Government in the war between the united States and Germany and her Allies . . . " Along he west and north walls of the central court are plagues bearing the names of 3,400 Tennesseans who gave their lives in World War I. The basement of the south wing houses the World War II museum. |
