In order to keep the clocks in harmony with
the rising of the sun, at certain designated places in
the United States, the traveler on the Westward
journey turns the clock back one hour, on the
Eastward journey at the same stations the clock is
advanced an hour. At Dodge City the time changes
from Central Time to Mountain Time or vice versa
and in recognition the Santa Fe has built two Sun
Dials on the Station platform at Dodge City graphi-
cally illustrating the difference between the two
times These Sun Dials are visible from the car
window.
At Seligman, Arizona, the time changes from
Mountain Time to Pacific Time.
