Front:
The Beautiful Southland
By Oscar Young
I love the Southern people,
And their kindly, courteous ways
I love their birds and flowers,
And their cheerful, sunny days;
I love their crimson sunsets,
And their balmy, starlit nights;
I love their pouring showers,
And the rain-clouds' hasty flights;
I love their fragrant forests,
And their rippling, wood-clad streams;
I love their mighty rivers,
And the sail that on them gleams;
I love their trees and gardens,
And the vines that trail along;
I love their fields and meadows,
And the darkies' merry song.
