The new unit added to the A. T. & S. F.
Hospital Association Hospital at Topeka,
Kansas, consisting of five stories and base-
ment (54 rooms and 72 beds), was placed
in operation January 26, 1931. The new
building is a modern fireproof structure of
reinforced concrete faced with brick and
trimmed with white stone. The new unit
provides offices for the medical staff, libra-
ry, telephone exchange, nurse stations, X-ray
rooms, operating room, dressing rooms and
a spacious entrance lobby. Special acoustical
treatment for sound deadening purposes was
used in lobby and corridors throughout the
building. New equipment and furnishings
