The 3 story building housing the Museum was formerly the Hatcher Hospital
and was given by the Hatcher family, for a Museum, following the death of Dr.
A. C. Hatcher, son of the founder. Dr. Karl Voldenqis a
Named for the famous Chisholm Trail that crossed Sumner County in early
days from south to north, it is the only Museum in the State bearing that
name by incorporation under the laws of the State of Kansas.
