THE PAUPAN CASSOWARY IN THE CATALINA BIRD PARK E 26 97 Resembling a bear with the kick of a mule, the Cassowary is one of the most interesting birds in Catalina Birdpark. Equipped with a solid bone helmet with which he crashes his way through his native Australian forests, the Cassowary is one of the most dangerous of all birds. Flight- less he depends on his short powerful legs for both speed and defense. His diet consists of fruits and vegetables.
